People keep asking me why I started updating again since I had been away so long and I couldn't really give a good answer. But, now I know why.

It is because of Nanowrimo!

I sit down at the computer to work on it and I guess subconsciously I don't want to soooo bad that I will do anything to keep from doing it. Therefore, I post on Livejournal, I post on TW, I joined last.fm, I opened a facebook account, I opened a gmail account, and I bid on assorted Dr who stuff on ebay. I even visited my MySpace page (I looked at the ugliness and all the ads and quickly left). I've watched Charlie the Unicorn like thirty times.

Ironically, the only time I get anything done on my nanowrimo book is when I'm avoiding my schoolwork!

Does anyone else have this disease???

I went back to work today after being sick and it sucked. I guess that sums up my day.

I changed my livejournal from Pelesfire to thetennille, since people know me as tennille. When I joined livejournal years ago tennille was chosen so I just picked something else, but people don't know who the hell I am. tennille is still chosen so I changed to thetennille, because I am THE tennille. :)

So in conclusion,
thetennille = pelesfire = tennille

In other news, I'm still home sick. Blah.

I've been home sick for two days now. I've been bored out of my mind, yet felt like doing absolutely nothing. I'm falling waaaayyy behind in nanowrimo. This is really sad:

I've just been working and going to school.  I'm trying to make my way into pharmacy school.

I got a new laptop a few days ago. :)

It was extremely hot today which made me sweat so much that my jeans kept trying to slide off.

So I went to see my advisor today to approve my classes for the fall. I was supposed to register like last week but I procrastinated like usual and I paid for it because one of my classes was full. But anyway, when I went to his office he was playing Queen (rather loudly I might add). And I was like "Ooooh, I was listening to that this morning" which I had been. But he didn't comment. I dunno if he thought I was sucking up or something or if he was just generally annoyed by my presence. Oh well.

I went shopping today and bought a rice steamer and a lamp. My brother is coming back into the country some time today from Vietnam with his wife so they'll probably staying with me for a while later in the week. I wanted to have a rice steamer on hand for his wife, Linh because I don't think she's really had "American" food before and might not like it. I can't really cook Vietnamese food (or any food for that matter), but I can steam some rice in case of emergency. And the lamp is for my brother's old room where they will be staying. I got a good deal on it; its really pretty and it was only $20.

I went to a bookstore that has the best manga section to see if Fruits Basket #11 was out yet, but it doesn't come out until the 9th. *sigh* I bought a book, White Oleander instead. I know they made a movie of it but I haven't seen it; I mainly got the book because it was on sale for $5.

I was going to buy my brother a sword 'cause he collects them but the vendor I went to didn't have anything good.

I also went by the vendor who sales Hello Kitty stuff but I didn't buy anything. I realized I already had enough Hello Kitty to open my own store.

so i came out of hiding to mention that i finished reading hbp this morning. don't worry those of you who haven't read it yet; i do not plan on letting loose any spoilers. just some acceptably vague comments....

generally, i enjoyed it. i consider the book a collection of tasty little tidbits with a huge grand finale.

while reading the ending i had to get up twice to get a tissue because i was crying so hard i couldn't read the words.

i must congratulate the author. she successfully ripped my heart out and danced on it. and i enjoyed every minute of it.

....and in non potter news: i got dsl today. wooo! so i'll probably actually write in my journal now. maybe.

this semester is really getting to me. i don't know why i thought i could work full-time and take 5 classes too. i'm so terribly behind. i'm ok in my database class and VB, but i've got programs to write from four different chapters in my JAVA class. ugh.

i just finished taking a test in my programming class and it was so hard. the questions were extremely tricky and i didn't do very well. damn brain.

(just had to vent)

i finally broke down and bought buffy the vampire slayer season six. all i want to do is watch them. i don't want to go to school. i don't want to go to work. i don't want to leave the house. just buffy.
i really think its the best show ever. people who've never watched it because they thought it was stupid are so missing out.

also, i did really well on a big test i had in one of my computer classes. yeah me.

i had a really bad day at work today. it was so bad that i can't even talk about it here.

i decided to flee before hurricane ivan flooded us again so i left thursday and went to the beach out of its reach. i just got back a couple of hours ago.

it was still stormy on the drive down and on friday but the rest of the weekend was perfect.

in summary of my weekend:
our hotel was incredible. we got a good deal on a suite overlooking the ocean. i loved being able to step out on the balcony and watch the waves. it was the nicest hotel i've ever stayed in. i swam in their heated indoor and outdoor pools and used the whirlpool, sauna, and steam room. ahhh.

there were some dangerous riptides but i went swimming in the ocean anyway. i got knocked down by waves a few times and bloodied my knees on some seashells but it was fun.

i went to a great aquarium and saw sharks and stuff and petted a sting ray.

i went to the most fabulous seafood buffet ever. it was like 30 dollars a person but was worth it. i nearly killed myself by overeating.

i finally got to see the last episode of buffy in its entirety. (i don't have cable tv at home).

i had an online test due this weekend so i had to pay eight dollars to use a computer that didn't have a printer to look at my test and HAND WRITE the whole thing down to work on it this weekend. how irritating. i emailed my answers to my professor five minutes before it was due. very close.

i ate at a hard rock cafe and they seated us next to the bowie section!!! what are the chances of that happening?

i woke up sick this morning. i've got a sore throat and i can't breathe. i guess i was out in the rain too much. i hope i'm better by next weekend because i'm supposed to go to the beach. that is if hurricane ivan isn't going to hit there.

i still don't have water. i was able to drive to my dad's house where he has water to take a shower. for that i am grateful. At least they have water at work now so i don't have to hold it for ten hours.

i've been listening to Bjork's new album a lot. its quite interesting. has anyone else heard it yet?

i still don't have any water. they cancelled school again. they called me from work because the power was out yesterday and they were told today that it wouldn't be back until midnight tonight so they sent all the employees home but one and then the power came back on. so she called me to come in to help her because i've got 2 hours left this week before i hit overtime, but i can't because i don't have my car here. and i can't bathe. its bad enough i have to work ten hours tomorrow. yesterday the official people said we would have water in about 24 hours. today they're saying we'll have water in 24 hours. ugh.

school has been going well. i'm completely in love with my programming class, (if it is possible to be in love with a class). my other classes are s'ok.

school was cancelled today and probably tomorrow due to flooding. i got some pictures of a nearby river that went wild and ruined some businesses and homes. i've never seen a flood so bad. this area is in a state of emergency. luckily, i don't live near any water, but part of our front yard sunk in because of all the water, i guess. ironically, we don't have any water. we went to the grocery store to buy bottled water and people were practically fighting over it because nearly the whole of three counties don't have water and they say its going to be atleast 24 hours. i don't like being stinky. maybe i should get a bar of soap and go stand out in the rain. whadja think?

i'm very grateful that we still have electricity. i was panicking this morning because i had a test that had to be emailed to one of my professors today, so i hurried up and sent it. i checked at about 6:00 and it hadn't gotten there i guess because the college's server was down. so i sent it really fast again because it was due at 6. eek. i just hope that since the college was closed she won't hold us to the deadline.

that reminds me, now that i'm in school i have access to super fast computers so i'll be online more (probably when i'm in class and supposed to be paying attention). so, i'll be actually using my livejournal and you may see me hanging around The TW Ghetto.

i just wanted to say that i'm leaving tomorrow and i'll be out of town for a week in case someone is looking for me. i am going to disney world. see ya.

i was so worried about my website being shut down because i'm using more bandwidth than i'm supposed to. but when i contacted my webhost about it i found out that 6gb isn't really my limit, its just a limit they use for themselves because they like to monitor higher trafficked websites to make sure they aren't doing anything illegal. my limit is actually 200gb. i'm so relieved.

in other news: i've rented a uhaul to clean all the heavy junk around the house and take it to the dump. so that's going to be my excitement today. ugh.

i finished chapter two of my novel yesterday. i'm trucking a long. so far so good.

and i've yet to see van helsing. i was going to go yesterday, but i got hooked on a book i was reading and i forgot. *sigh*

Despite everything I try people are stealing bandwidth from my website faster than I can stop them. I can't keep up. I mean, goddamn, I'm getting like 19,000 hits a day. I don't want to, but I might have to shut down my web site. Its not fair, I worked so hard on it. And the more I researched, the more depressed I became because people are stealing my artwork too. What's wrong with people???
